CTRL + P in word is slow/hangs printing

CTRL+ P is very slow to print a word document, but if I use the printer icon
from the toolbar it prints very fast without waiting the 1 to 4 minutes.
Anyone with a clue about -- this??

Hi Sam,
Word 2003 from office 2003.
Start Word in Safe Mode by holding down Ctrl. Is printing any faster when you do
this? If it is, then you may have some kind of macro named FilePrint that's doing
something in the background.

Thanks Cindy -- I will try it and see if it prints -- just in case the
fileprint macro is corrupt or bad, is there a way to rebuild the macro?

thanks
Sam

It depends on where that macro is... If starting in Safe Mode helps, we
can start looking for it.

First thing is to go into Tools/Macro/Macros and see if FilePrint shows
up in the list. If it does, select it and click "Edit" to open it.
