ctrl-shift-f3 (spike) doesn't work

Repeatably using ctrl-f3 in a document, one can pick out
sections to copy to another document without having to
paste each individually.
When ready to paste, just press ctrl-shift-f3 and all the
cuts are there.
For some reason, when i press ctrl-shift-f3, i get a
message: there are too many edits in the document. This
operation will be incomplete. Save your work.

However, this happens even if I choose one word with
control-F3. Nothing is pasted.
It seems I need to clear the buffer.

Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks
Hal

Hi Hal,

You can get that message for a number of reasons.
Sometimes clearing the temp folder or the temporary
Internet cache files then starting Word will clear it.

Hi Hal,

If you used start=>Search/Find and removed all files
found with the search string of
~$*.*;*.tmp
then started Word did you find this problem in all
documents or only certain ones.

If only certain ones the document may be corrupted.
If in all, try starting Word in Office safe mode
(hold ctrl key when starting Word) and see if
you get the same problem.

I tried this and still have the problem. Any other suggestions? >>

HI Bob,
I tried several documents with the same result.
However, when I hold ctrl and start word in safe mode it works.
How do I get it back in normal mode?
thanks
Hal
