I was searching for a way to align a table with other shapes on a
slide, but I didn't find a solution on the Internet.
(the align icons are greyed out when a table is selected.)
However, I came across a trick to group tables with other shapes and
this trick also works for aligning.
I thought I'd share it with the group - hopefully I'm not repeating
information ...
It works in PowerPoint 2003.
So, to align a table with for example a textbox, draw an extra
rectangle. First select the text box and shift-select the rectangle
and align the rectangle to the text box. Then select the table (no
other action in between the aligning and selecting!!) and shift-select
the text box and press ctrl-y on the keyboard, now the table will be
aligned with the text box. You can delete the extra rectangle.
This ctrl-y (repeat) trick also works for grouping tables with other
shapes.
Hope this is helpful,
Elke
