Cube builds and open project plans

Hello,

We are currently experiencing cube building issues that we're working
through. However, one of the comments made by our DBA is that we might
have encountered a deadlock on SQL server because a project was open/
checked out. This PM was actively working on the plan overnight during
the Cube build. Does/should a checked out project have any impact on
the cube build itself?

I realize that any data modified in that checked out project would not
be reflected in the Cube data; however, I don't anticipate it would
prevent a successful cube build.

Thanks for your knowledge!

You are right. Having a project checked out should not and does not
cause cube build failures. I can imagine there might be a bug in the
transaction processing that a Project publish at the right millisecond
might cause a problem, but that's just a speculative bug.

I've seen projects checked out for a couple weeks that haven't slowed
the cube down.
