Vit

hello to everybody,

I try to understand how to use the cube to perform some report and
data analysis...

does anyone have some resource or link to better understand what is a
cube and some best practice to perform it?

thanks so much

The cube is good reporting on any timephased data such as:-

Hours worked
Costs incurred
Resource Availability\Capacity

These measures can be grouped and filtered by any dimension in the cube such
as (resource name, custom field, time period etc).

The cube also contains none-timephased information such as risks, issues.

The SDK provides details of the cube schemas.

I'd suggest creating a few Data Analysis views in PWA. I'm sure you'll soon
get the hang of what is possible.

Paul

You might want to consider purchasing our "Implementing and Administering
Microsoft Office Project Server 2007" book, which devotes an entire chapter
on how to create meaningful Data Analysis views using each of the OLAP cubes
that ship with the tool. The took is available for purchase at:

Hope this helps.
