Hi,
I'm in the process of setting up some up a new Cube to improve our
unsubmitted time reporting through Portfolio Analyzer, but I'm not an
Analysis Services expert.
The new Cube uses the Web tables in the database to pull in information on
time sheet entry and works well in our test environment. I've based the fact
table on a view of the MSP_WEB_WORK, MSP_WEB_PROJECTS, MSP_WEB_ASSIGNMENTS
and MSP_WEB_RESOURCES tables; is this good practice, or should I be
generating a separate Fact table from scratch.
Many thanks
Richard
, but I'm not an Analysis Services expert so need to check the approach .....
The basic process I followed was to ....
1. Set up a new view based on the MSP_WEB_WORK, MSP_WEB_PROJECTS
2. Set up a new cube using the above view as the Fact table.
3. Set up the WEB_WORK_VALUE field as the measure and the resource name ,
project name, update status and approval status as dimensions.
The Cubes work great in our test environment, but I need to check that
basing the cube on a Fact
