Hi Mary,
Microsoft may send emails with links to their website
to an information page for a download of an update, but
Microsoft does not distribute updates by email.
There are some folks out there who decided to make up
ones that look like that's what MS was doing. The attachments
can either be empty files or they can contain a viral
attachment. Update your antivirus software from the
vendor's site then do a 100% check of your PC to be
sure you're okay.

I received a cumulative patch download from Microsoft on
my e-mail. When I clicked the paperclip to open it, my
attachment bar was grayed out. I disabled Norton
Antivirus, but still no good. Any ideas? >>

I hope this helps you,
