Curious Message

When I turned on ON today, a MS message popped up. It's headed as "MS
Activation Wizard":

"Your Beta Software has expired. Please upgrade or use the Add or remove
Programs Utility under Control Panel to remove the software from your
computer now.

But the software I'm using now is from the original ON CDROM, plus the free
SP-1 upgrade. Help | About shows MS Office OneNote 2003 (11.6350.6350) SP1

What's going on?

When did you download the Service Pack? Did you get it via Check for
Updates, by downloading from the preview page? I am wondering if you have
the actual service pack or the Preview of the Service Pack.

I can't recall. How could I tell now, other than somehow decoding the Help
| About information. What would you suggest I do to make ON happy again?

Okay...
PT you don't have the released version. You will need to uninstall your
copy, re-install the original copy, and then use Help--> Check for Updates
to get the released version.

(Many thanks to Chris for finding the number :)

 Help/About Microsoft Office OneNote, right on the top line. Why do I
know? Because mine expired today, and I had to uninstall, then install the
original and update with SP1.

If I uninstall, what happens to all my data and notes to date? Are they
retained and grafted onto the re-installed copy?

Yes. You can always make copies of the files just to be safe though. You
can find all the files in C:\Documents and Settings\{UserName}\My
Documents\My Notebook.
