Currency format

Hi

I am using Win Xp, Excel2003, my query is regarding the currency format.

I have customized the regional settings in WinXP to show currency as Rs and
set the decimal points e.g.
Rs 10,00,000.00 (default would be US $1,000,0000.00).

My problem is that the customized format is not showing in excel I get
currency as Rs how ever the commas are still in the US style. I don't want
to use the custom format (Ctrl + 1). Is there any particular reason that the
commas are not coming as per the regional settings.

I already have that format. I didn't want to use it.

I was interested in knowing why the regional settings were not effective for
the comma, is it an excel thing or am I making a mistake.
