Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
I've only had Office 2008 for Mac for a couple of weeks. I've used older files created with both Office 2003 (PC) and Office for Mac 2004 with no problems.
However, I created a new workbook this morning and saved it in the default xlsx file format. When I loaded it, all my currency columns had changed to 'Custom' format with the dollar currency symbol. So I changed it back to UK currency with the £ symbol and resaved.
When I loaded it, once again Excel has changed it to 'Custom' with the $ symbol (and yes, my International settings are correct in System Preferences).
As a work around, I can save the workbook in the Excel 97-2004 format.
Anyone else discovered this?
