Current date and greater ???

I have a query that is running fine, except I have to keep entering the
current date manually.
Example: >=20030821 (AS400 dates format)

I have tried to enter this instead but it will not work,
Example: >=Date()

I am assuming this is because of the format difference.
Is there a way to change to format so the AS400 will read it correctly and
still have the query pick-up the system date?
