Kind dwellers of this forum, I have searched high and low for my answer before posting. But found nothing that helped. Please be kind!

I recently installed Office 20008 on my new MBP 2.5Ghz w/ 4GB RAM. I am on Office 2008 update 12.1.3.

I am having similar issues as other users (but they seem to be power pc users). I should not be power limited!

My cursor cannot keep up with my typing when opening an older word document from a removable drive (From a PC. Also, the docs are only a few months old). The document does contain tables and text.

Thanks in advance,
Brian

Hi Brian:

"Maggie" that document. I think it's full of crud...

The Maggie:

1. Create a new blank document
2. Carefully select all of the text in the bad document EXCEPT the last
paragraph mark
3. Copy it.
4. Paste in the new document.
5. Save under a new file name and close all, then re-open.

This technique for de-corrupting is known as "Doing a 'Maggie'", after
Margaret Secara from the TECHWR-L mailing list, who first publicised the
technique.

Cheers
