cursor in Word 2003

For some reason (probably all my futzing), when a new document opens
in Word 2003, the cursor position is about halfway down the page, and
I can't figure out how to put it back in the right place. Suggestions?

Open the Normal.dot template (see "To find Normal.dot" and "To open it
properly" in
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/CustomizeNormalTemplate.htm), go
to File > Page Setup, click the Layout tab, and set the Vertical Alignment
option to Top. Save and close the template.

No need to open the Normal.dot template. Just open a new Blank Document.
Without changing anything else, go to the Layout tab of Page Setup, change
the vertical alignment to Top, click Default..., and answer yes.
