cursor jumping during typing

I am having a real problem with the entry point jumping back or forward and
taking the just entered type with it.
It is very frustrating to be typing away and all of a sudden you are
entering text two or three lines up.

Are you using a laptop? If so, try to keep your hand away from the touchpad.
You can also see if you have your Speech or microphone turned on. I've read
that it can cause this issue to happen.

Hey JoAnn.
Thanks for the tip. I have turned the touchpad off and problem seems to be
gone. Do I feel like a dummy or what!
Kind Regards, Joe

It's a very common thing. I prefer plugging a regular keyboard into a laptop
so I avoid that problem. ;-)
