Cursor Jumping?

Can anyone tell me how to prevent the cursor jumping to a new line somewhere
random on the page while typing emails? I have a Dell Lattitude D600, and on
occasion - enough to really tick me off - I can be typing in the general body
of an email, and look up only to find the cursor has moved to the second line
of my signature block (as an example). Help - please before I smash my
laptop.

I suspect you might be touching the mouse pad ever so lightly with your palm
and that is causing your issue - I would take a piece of paper and cover that
touch pad to stop this.
