Cursor jumps all over the place

Hello,
I am having problems typing in MS Word, in MS OE, or just about anywhere I
type.
The cursor will jump all around the document. While typing this message it
will jump from the message area to the subject area, or it will jump around
within a document, from one section of the document to another. I can't find
anything in the MS support knowledge center. Any fixes.

This is a laptop? This is because the touchpad is over-sensitive and even
just brushing over it executes a double-click function taking the cursor
from its editing position to the pointer position.

Usually you can go into Touchpad setup and desensitize the touchpad or
disable the double-click option completely. If you use a separate mouse, you
should be able to set the touchpad to be disabled when the mouse is plugged
in.
