Cursor jumps around

I recently had a new hard drive installed in my HP Pavillion DV6700 laptop.
After I reloaded Office, I noticed that my cursor jumps around of its own
accord. I do not use an external mouse with the laptop, and it is a PS/2
keyboard. I followed all the suggestions I could find on other sites about
how to eliminate this problem but to no avail. Does anyone know how to make
this cursor stop jumping around.
