1. Possibly the text is formatted as "white"?

2. On the Print tab of Tools | Options, clear the check box for "Document
properties."

I cleared it and no still no characters........on a tool bar there is a AA
and then a box that says Normal. I've not seen that before......could that
have something to do with it. There is a red wavy line on the screen when I
click it it gets a black box and then I delete and it goes away. Also I
forgot to tell you there is a capital I and little lines to the right of it.
I am Suzanne also........ Thank you for your help and I hope you have more
ideas. I can't imagine what I did........thank you so much for your help.

Possible the text is formatted as Hidden. Toggle on the ShowAll command to
see what is happening.

If it were Hidden and not displayed, Suzanne would not be seeing the cursor
movement and underlined spelling. I still believe the text is formatted as
white. Suzanne, do Ctrl+A, Ctrl+Spacebar and see if that helps. If not,
Ctrl+A, right-click and choose Font and see if the Hidden box is checked. If
it is, clear it, but since Ctrl+Spacebar didn't work, that means the style
has been modified (and that's another issue).

As for the mouse pointer appearance, that's what you get with Click and
Type; if you double-click in a given position, you can start typing there
even if there isn't any text there already. The lines indicate whether the
text you type will be left, center, or right aligned.

Thank you both.......how it happened I don't have a clue but I'll
learn......I promise.

It was FONT , font color was set to white! Oh such frustration and thank
you both for hanging in there with me. Suzanne
