Cursor moves intermittently

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

When I am typing in Word 2008, my cursor may move up a line or forward a few spaces. It doesn't type in those areas, the but the cursor (black blinking line) moves around when I stop typing. When I start again, it goes back to where it is supposed to. Anyone have any ideas?
