Cursor not changing on hovering upon cell outline

Hi:

I have Office 2007 installed on Vista Business
on my HP laptop and am running into a peculiar
problem.

Normally when you select a cell, Excel shows an
outline with an auto-fill handle at the bottom
right corner and hovering on the cell outline
changes the cursor so that you can do operations
with the cell like dragging it to a new location.

In my laptop, a cell outline is a solid box and
neither displays the handle at the bottom right
or changes the cursor when I hover on the cell
outline.

Searching the Net hasn't turned up anything
useful for me yet.

Does anybody know what's going on and how to
make Excel behave 'normal'?

TIA.

In 2003 version I would go to Tools>Options>Edit.

Checkmark "allow cell drag and drop".

Where you go in 2007 for the option is not known to me but probably the
solution to your problem.

Awesome! It was in Excel Options -> Advanced, called "Enable fill handle and
cell drag-and-drop". Enabled it and voila! Thank you so much! It's taken a
*huge* overhead away.
