Cursor Problems

I have a problem with Word 2007. The cursor flickers all of the time and it
makes working within a document very difficult. The cursor flickers as if
the system is switching between the processing circle and the arrow pointer.
This happens in Word 2007 and with a glitch in Wordpad.

I'm running Vista basic home, (no problem in xp) on a new HP desktop.

Sounds like the video driver for Vista is incorrect OR your computer
video subsystem isn't up to par for the settings you are using in Vista

If it only happens in Word and not Publisher (or any other program) do you
still think it's the video driver?

Since Wordpad isn't part of Office and you say it happens there too,
that sorta lets Office itself out of the picture.
