Cursor query in Microsoft Project Pro 2003

I find that moving the cursor from tasks to Gantt chart is reflected by
a respective change of the cursor from a 3-dimensional plus sign to the
standard pointer. In other views, the icon changes to a 'hand'.
Looking of guidance on what each represents and where one can find
