Cursor skips around

When I type the cursor suddenly moves by itself causing me to misspell words
and even whole sentences. This is slowing me down as I have to keep checking
and it's driving me crazy. I've tried Word diagnostics, also I've tried
re-loading Office entirely, but the problem won't go away.Any ideas?

Your using a laptop with a touchpad pointing device? This is usually because
the Touchpad is over-sensitive so that just gentle brushing over the pad
causes the cursor to respond. You will find masses of set up options for
your pad in the Mouse applet of the Control Panel.
