Cursor stuck as a clock in Word X

Ive seen this posted several times with no solution. In Word X on OSX,
the cursor constantly turns into a clock and will remain that way as
long as Word is running. Any solutions?

Sometimes it is a Mac thing. It forgets to swap back.
Try clicking on the screen background or a window belonging to any
other program to get the arrrow back.

Thanks for posting back. I only ever saw that problem infrequently and
not only with Word.
Speaking of updates...
