Cursors

I need a fix. While typing in Word, the program
sometimes automatically jumps to where I last left the
pointer and begins adding my data there. Any ideas?

In other words as I type these letters, if my pointer was
at the top of this paragraph, it begins typing at that
point.

You have a laptop, right? This problem is caused by inadvertently brushing
the touchpad. This simulated a mouse click and causes the cursor to jump to
the mouse pointer position.

If you go to the Control Panel, Mouse settings, you should find some
adjustments to sensitivity or may even be able to disable the double-click
simulation.
