Custom Animation for Graphs

T

TAJ Simmons

Christine,

I've just done a little test.

Added a bar graph with 3 series

right clicked it and chose "custom animation"

In the animation window on the right hand side of the screen I added

an "entrance effect of "wipe from bottom (urrgghh!) on mouse click"

I right click the little "down triangle drop down" near the Chart 3 label.

I choose "timing"

I click the "chart animation" tab along the top
I change the "As one object" to "by series" there are other options.

a) by series
b) by category
c) by element in series
d) by element in categories

Certain chart types give less options
.. xy scatter chart only has a & b

Area chart has only (a).
Pie chart with a segment stacked has only (b)

I suspect other charts also have limitations

Cheers

I am running PowerPoint 2002 on XP Professional system. I have created a
slide with a graph and would like the different elements of the graph to come
in at different times. When I select the chart animation there is only one
option in the Group Chart box (as one object). An older version of
PowerPoint would allow this.

Any ideas where Im going wrong. Any help would be much appreciated.

Which "group" options are available depend on a combination of the type of
chart and the type of animation chosen. Try changing your animation to
something simple (such as a wipe) and see if you have more group options.

Hi,

And if those options don't give you the level of control you are after, blow
the chart to smithereens and do it yourself <g>:

But back up your chart data as you will lose it this way.
