I would like to change my default selection in the custom autofilter to speed up my work.
When you select the Custom Auto filter, the pop up menu appears with "Equals" as 1st choice. I would like to change this so that I can have "contains" as my first choice. As this is always the option I use.

I don't know of any way to reset the default, but you don't have to change
anything - Just precede & follow the criteria with the asterisk (*)
wildcard. If you're looking for any record that contains the consecutive
letters "rg" for example, type the criteria as *rg* - the "Contains"
operator will be invoked automatically. Have a look at the bottom of the
Custom dialog.
