custom colours

is there a way of assigning a custom colour to text in word 98? i know
this is possible in word 2000 by selecting the 'more colours' option

No. Next version. The Word 2000 16-bit text colours did not arrive until
Word X on the Mac.

Hi Peter,

Word 2001 offers "More Colors" at the bottom of the default color choices
and clicking on it takes you to a custom colors dialog. Unfortunately, I
don't think you have this option in Word 98. At least the "Office 98 Bible"
which I happen to have says "16 possible colors can be selected from the
list box" and doesn't mention any other options. Sorry.

Hi John,

Nope! It arrived in Word 2001, that is, if by "16-bit text colours" you
mean that you can use the CMYK picker (RGB picker, etc.) to choose your text
color.
