custom date format

Is there an easy way to change the date format (under Tools, Options, View,
Date format) for date related fields (e.g. start, finish)? I want to create
a high level schedule that will show dates out 3, 4, 5 years. What I want is
something like "Mar '06" (i.e.March 2006). I know this functionality is
available in Excel.

Sorry, but no. There is no way to do that. Project is not excel and excel is
not project.
