Custom dictionary emptied itself

Using Word 200 on Windows XP:

I was spell checking a simple document and went to add a new Word to my
custom dictionary. I got "The custom dictionary is full. The word was not
added" error message. When I went to check the dictionary to see if it was
overly huge, It was empty, with a size of 0 KB, modifed at the precise time I
had received teh error message.

Any idea what happened? I searched the hard drive for another version, but
no luck.
