Custom Enterprise Field: update without open Ms Project

Hi All,

I'm working on a EPM 2003 and I need to update an enterprise custom
field.

I have a "smaily face" based on the fact that the projects have been
updated on the last 14 days or not...

The problem is that if I don't open every project, the smiley face
will not be updated...

there is the opportunity to open and republish every project every
night (something like a batch file????)

any other suggestion???

I really don't understand why I can create a custom field if the value
it is not accurate....
