Custom Field involving Remaining Work

I am creating a Global Custom (Number) Field where I have the
"Remaining Work" field in the formula box (by itself). Within the
"Graphical Indicators" window, I am asking for different graphical
indicators based on what number shows up as remaining work. For
example, if "Remaining Work" is 40 or higher, show me a green flag...

It always produces an error and I don't get my flag...

Is there something I should know about the Remaining Work field? Even
when I display the graphical indicator value as "Data"...it just
displays "#ERROR".

I also tried putting "Work - Actual Work" in the formula Window (to try
to come up with the same thing as Remaining Work".---That doesn't work
either.

Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
