Custom fields and outline codes

I have a custom outline code called Project Type: the options are as follows:
New Project
Maintenance
Initiation
Release

WHen the project manager chooses "release" from the drop down menu, i need a
field called "CAPEX No" to be a requiered feild in the project information
box, and if it is any thing else other then release then the "CAPEX No" foeld
should be optional.

Is this possible in Ms Project Server
Any help will be appreciated

Hi..
I am nor sure but i think thats not possible. You may define a few subcodes
by "release" (all possibilities). So the user can choose any of them

You can not apply logic to the outline codes

You have the option to make fields required - but this is for all users
under all conditions.

Your only option here is to consider VBA but that is for another group
