Custom Filter Question

=J9-B9-D9-F9-H9-L9

This formula is in the cell I want to filter. It shows $0.00 because nothing
is in j9 etc. yet.

If I do custom filter do not show contains $0.00, cells containing $0.00
still show $0.00.

Is there a way to make them show as blank?

Are you actually typing the $ and everything else?

Keep in mind that the symbols only display as a result of cell
*formatting* - IOW, those characters aren't contained in the cell - they're
window dressing. The result in the cell is 0.

Set your custom criteria to read as: Does Not Equal 0

and see if you don't get what you expected.
