Custom Filters

I would like to have a filter that will allow a view of only the tasks being
executed within a designated 60 day timeframe. I've struggled with this for
a while and can't seem to make one that works. Any suggestions?

Where do you want to use this filter? In Microsoft Project Professional?
In PWA? Where?

If you want to use the filter in Microsoft Project Professional, you could
create a custom interactive filter as follows:

Name -- Work Performed in a Date Range...

And/Or Field Name Test
Value(s)
Actual Finish is greater than or equal to
"Show tasks that start or finish after:"?
And Actual Start is less than or equal to
"And start before:"?

Show Related Summary Rows -- Selected

Just a thought. Let us know if this helps.

Sorry, I tend to think everyone is on Project Server as I am. This did help
and I thank you for your time. dt

Hi Dale

This is Landon Howell at NCI Building Systems. I am trying to do the same
thing but within PWA as a custom date filter to only show tasks for a
Monday-Sunday timeframe on a weekly basis.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Landon

Where do you want to use this filter? In the Microsoft Project plan? In
PWA? If in PWA, on which page specifically? Timesheet? View Resource
Assignments? Let us know.

Hi Dale

I am trying to use within PWA. I am trying to create a project view based on
resource assignments and tasks from the Specify View Screen. The purpose of
the view is to show resource assignments and timesheet updates over a period
of one week from Monday to Sunday.

The view includes task name, task summary name, tasks ID, project, resource
name, Start, Finish, Work, Remaining Work and % complete.

I am grouping by resource name, Project, and task summary name. I need to
add a filter so that for a given timeframe (from Mon to Sun) I will get all
actual hours worked during that time frame. Basically a timesheet view for a
designated period of time.

Thanks

Landon

You would need to create this custom PWA view in the Assignments section so
that you filter on the Submitted On field. The big issue you will face in
doing so, however, is that you cannot make your filter an "interactive
filter" that requests a date range, the way you can in a filter in a
Microsoft Project plan. Therefore, based on your need, I believe you would
best handle this filtering need in database reporting tool such as SQL
Reporting Services or Crystal Reports. Hope this helps.
