custom flags

anything like the equivalent of categories in OL, but as flags in ON? In
other words, I'd like to flag things with person responsible, which requires
me to enter my own set of names. Any way to work something like this in ON?

You mean to customize the note flags in OneNote?

Format | Note Flags | Customize My Note Flags

From the Task Pane which appears, double-click on a flag, and among the
options should be the ability to rename the flag.
