Custom Grid Color and Layout

T

Trent

Hi,
Is there way to change the color (or darkness) on the Gridline for printing?
Also I need to be able to draw on and print a grid that looks like
engineer's graph paper, specifically with small boxes representing 1 foot
contained in boxes (with darker outlines) that represent 10 ft square. Visio
will show this at certain zoom lengths but I need this shown when I display
(or print) the full page (8.5"x11" or 8.5"x14") Any suggestions?
Thanks

I'd recommend making a grid pattern and applying it to a rectangle that you
send to back. You can make scaled grid patterns.

This article discusses creating custom line, fill, and arrowheads:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d..._Managing_Styles,_Formats,_and_Colors_431.asp

Basically, you need to draw a 10 ft square, then load it into a new Fill
pattern. You need to show View > Drawing Explorer, then right click the Fill
pattern leaf to add a new pattern. Then double click the new pattern and
paste your rectangle therein. Also, right-click the properties for the new
pattern and check "scaled".

Your pattern will show up at the very bottom of the Fill pattern list in the
Fill Format dialog box.
