Custom IPM.Note form not using default Outlook email settings

We have created a custom Message form that calls a VB COM+ addin. The custom
form was first designed in HTML and users who enabled spellchecker and read
receipt for all sent emails began reporting that these functions were no
longer working after they began using the custom form.

We redesigned the form using RTF and the spellchecker began to function as
predicted, but we are still having the problem with read receipts.

Is this a known issue and can it be resolved?
