I would like to use a customized US International keyboard with my own
alternates. I type in Spanish and German as well as English. I have modified
the keyboard with an editor, but when I try to use it in Outlook (mostly) and
Word (both 2007), the program keyboard shortcuts (which I do not use) take
precedence over the keyoard layout.
I could design the keyboard to use AltGr and other shift positions not used
by the programs, but that would be slower. My real preference would be to use
Ctrl+ keystrokes for accented characters.
Is there any way to turn off or neutralize the Office shortcuts? I use XP
Pro.
Thanks.
