custom label won't print out properly as before

I am using Office 2003 (newly installed) and cannot print out my custom library labels as before. I am using an HP 7660 printer (also newly installed). I am using label instructions as provided by the label manufacturer (Highsmith) and they worked with Office 2000.

Hi =?Utf-8?B?ZGd3?=,
I am using Office 2003 (newly installed) and cannot print out my custom library
labels as before. I am using an HP 7660 printer (also newly installed). I am
using label instructions as provided by the label manufacturer (Highsmith) and
they worked with Office 2000.I'm not familiar with Highsmith, and therefore not with their instructions. So
unless you tell us what these are AND describe exactly what's going on, the
chances that we can help are quite slim. You might try asking Highsmith...

Highsmith is a distributor of library materials. The labels that I am trying to print (AND was able to print quite well using WORD 2000 mailmerge) are 1"H x 3/4"W Rounded Corner Spine Labels. They are the type that are used on the spines of books for identification when cataloguing them.
I have been using them for a long time. Now, since I purchased Office 2003, with it's changed method of printing labels and making custom labels, these spine labels are not printing accurately. I cannot figure out what I must do to make them print on the label properly. I have the following information to put in the Details section of the custom label:
Top margin 0.5 Label height 1
Side margin 0.38 Label width 0.75
Vertical pitch 1 Number across 9
Horizontal pitch 0.88 Number down 10 The sheet is 8 1/2" by 11"
When entering the above, the print now comes out on the wrong place on the label, too near the top of the page which makes all the rest of the labels unusable. I don't know how much more accurately I can explain what is wrong. AGAIN, I have not had a problem using these labels in the past 3 years, only since using Office 2003.
This is NOT a Highsmith problem, but a Microsoft Office 2003 problem. I hope Cindy M is wrong in her assessment of helping with this problem being quite slim.

FWIW I tried setting up these labels on Word 2000 and Word 2003 and both
worked OK but a number of things do have to be right, e.g.
a. the paper size must be correct in the printer setup as well as the page
setup in Word (it probably is, but it's worth checking). It's probably also
worth unchecking "Allow US Letter/A4 resizing in Print Options (although I
don't think that should actually make any difference if the paper and page
size are both US Letter)
b. if you are used to using a particular font size for the text in the
labels, it's worth checking that Word 2003 is not using a font size larger
than you expect

Beyond that,
a. is even one page coming out right?
b. does the print preview look right?
c. are you printing using Mailmerge or just by filling the sheet with data
and using File|Print?

Thank you Peter Jamison for your logical approach to my problem! After I sent my last post, I took another look at the Details section and discovered that I had typed 0.05 for the Top Margin instead of 0.5 which, of course, caused the info to be printed in the wrong place on the label. I truly appreciate your comments as I feel that operating in such a step-by-step manner is the best way to solve problems; and that most problems can be solved if using logical methods. Finally, in answer to you 3 pts. - a) yes, another page of labels (different type) had printed out correctly. b) I don't think I looked at the print preview in this case. c) I was using Mailmerge and the accompanying MMWizard, however, gigo ruled once again. The error was caused by faulty input and was neither a Highsmith problem nor a Microsoft problem, but a user input problem. Thank you again.

My comment was the chances we can help are slim if you don't provide more detailed
information...
