custom macro icon not appearing in toolbar

Have a custom Merge macro that was assigned to the toolbar (Mail Merge) in
Word XP. After loading Acrobat 6.0 Pro, the icon for the macro disappeared.
To enable it, the user must go to Tools, Customize, uncheck the Mail Merge,
close the window, go back to Customize, enable Mail Merge then the icon will
appear. Once Word is closed and re-opened....it will not reappear. Thought
to get rid of Acrobat icons off the toolbar (that was a bear) however, the
macro icon will still not reappear permanently. I removed Acrobat 6.0 Pro
from the computer and now the macro icon appears. Anyone encountered this
problem? Any fix?

Yes, there are lots of problems with the Adobe Acrobat addin interfering with
toolbars and toolbar settings. I don't use it, myself, so I can't offer much.
You might try asking in the word.customization.menutoolbars newsgroup, see if
anyone there has any suggestions.
