Custom Maintenance Wizard file not working

B

Ben

Hi

We purchased our Dell workstations with OEM Office 2003.

We have loaded the OEM Office CD onto our server and have re-installed a
number of machines manually from the files on the server. I now require a
number of centrelised settings in office to be applied on all the machines
so have been looking at Custom Maintenance Wizard Files.

I have configured a file using the Custom Maintenance Wizard with no install
options only configuration options. I have then run MaintWiz.exe /c
"z:\clientapps\Office 2003\Office Maintainance File SF2.CMW" /qb- from a
workstaion as reccomended, the install flashed up on the screen but none of
the settings have applied.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks
B

I have removed the "/qb-" parameter and received the error:

This version of Microsoft Office 2003 does not support Office Custom
Mainatainance Wizard Files.

Is there any way of getting these to support Custom Mainatainance Wizard
Files?

Thanks

Hi Ben,

In general the Custom Maintenance Wizard applies settings for Office Admin Point installation/deployments of MS Office.
Office Admin Point setups are only supported using Microsoft Volume License Key (Enterprise) setups, which aren't supported via OEM
products.

You may be able to apply a number of the settings using scripts, registry updates and ADM policy application.

Hi Bob

We are trying to disable Reading Layout and Getting Started task pane in
Word, set macro security to Low in all of office.

Is this possible using scripts? (I have a reg script for the Getting
Started but the rest I cannot find)

Many thanks

B
