using office xp pro

Is it possible to setup a custom number display to display result as
$x.xM ($4.0M for ex.) or
$x.xK ($4.0K for ex)

can i carry the same concept to powerpoint?

You can use a custom number format (format=>Cells=>Number select custom)

[<1000000]$###.0,K,;$###.0,,\M

Assumes you won't have a value in the trillions or negative.
