Custom Page Numbering Needed

In a 40 page document, used as a workshop participant guide and created in
Word 2007 we need to insert a blank page inbetween all the pre-exsisting,
text filled pages, so that we have a document set up so that in double sided
pages, pages to the left are blank and all pages to the right contain text.
On the blank pages, which are obviously even numbered pages, we will be
inserting various objects.
What is required is to keep the numbering system from the pre-existing file
so that none of the new, blank pages are counted in the page numbering(ie:
each of the pre-existing odd pages will continue to be numbered
1,2,3,4,5,......, while the new blank pages will not be counted in the page
numbering scheme. I hope this is explained in an understandable fashion.
Some guidence on how to accomplish this will be fantastic.

As long as you don't need to have a TOC (which will report the actual page
number, not the calculated one), you can do this:

1. Enable "Different odd and even" for headers and footers and leave the
even header/footer blank.

2. In the odd header/footer (which will inherit your current settings from
the primary header/footer), press Alt+F9 to display the field codes and
change the { PAGE } field to { = ({ PAGE } + 1)/2 }. This assumes that you
will have a page 1 with no facing even page, so that page 2 will be the
first blank page.

Note that the easiest way to construct this field is to type the equals sign
and the rest of the syntax on either side of the existing PAGE field
(outside the field braces), then select the entire syntax and press Ctrl+F9
to convert it to a field.
