Custom Properties values 'disappearing'

Hi,
I am using Visio 2003 sp2 and have created a flowchart with 28 Custom
Properties on each shape (custom properties assigned to the master
shape originally). Each Custom Property is a 'string' type and is to
hold text entered by me directly into the value field of each Custom
Property.

The problem is that I enter data into the Custom Property fields then
save the file but if I close then reopen Visio all the information
which I had input disappears (as if I hadn't saved). I have recreated
the flowcharts in a new file (not pasted into the new file) on an
alternate PC using a newly created master but I am still getting this
problem (even with the new file).

Am I doing something wrong? Any assistance will be VERY much
appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Gary,

Stupid question first: Did you check that the changes to the properties took
hold? Ie: enter the values, close the dialog, check the values in the dialog
again, then save?

Is the diagram somehow read-only?

If you, say, move a shape, then save the diagram, does the shape-move get
saved?

Trying to diagnose....

Thanks Chris,

Have tried the diagnostics as you describe but am unable to get to the
root cause. This must be something local as I am unable to find others
who have experienced the same problem. A tight deadline beckons so
I'll use a workaround until I have some time to troubleshoot further.

Thanks again.

Gary
