Custom Props to change shape appearance

I am new to Visio development so bear with me. Let says I have a blue circle
shape with custom properties of blue, yellow and green. I want the shape to
change to the color selected in the custom prop. For example, if I change
the custom property from blue to yellow, the shape shoud change color from
blue to yellow. How do I do this?

Take a look at "Colour based on status" at

It uses a lookup function in the colour cell to set the colour based on the
value of another cell.
