custom qurey question

Hi,

Is there a way to, either in access or in fp, take a db
value and subtract 1. I have a db results page that has
listed the plans from this year, but i want to display
last years plans right next to this years... i have two
querys in access one for this year and one for last year.
is there a way to say from the requested year on the
search page to subtract 1?
