Custom Report or View

I'd like a report listing all tasks group by resource, in order by start date
within each Resource grouping. I'd like TaskID, Resource Name, Work, Start,
Finish and % complete. For the life of me I see how to create a custom
report and view, but it seems I can't adjust the columns, order of columns,
etc. Any hints out there?

Josh,
To have tasks grouped by resource you are most likely looking at the
Resource Usage view (or an equivalent built-in report). You might be
able to use the grouping function with the Gantt Chart view but if any
task has more than one resource assigned to it the grouping function
won't get you there.

Of the fields you mentioned two are a problem - the Task ID and %
Complete. Both of these fields are task fields and will not show up on a
combination view such as the Resource Usage view. If you can live with %
Work Complete instead of % Complete, then only the Task ID is a problem.
You might want to read FAQ 51 - Data Types: Task, Resource and
Assignment, on our MVP website at:
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm

It's not that it can't be done, it will just require a little field
copying or a simple VBA macro.

As far as adjusting the order of columns for any view, those are
determined by the view table. You can create a custom view table by
going to View/Table/More Tables and customizing an existing table or
creating a new one.

Hope this helps.
