Custom Scheduling software on a Web site

Using Active Server Pages (ASPs) on a Windows server, Microsoft has enabled
us to create Web sites that allow users to input and update tasks via the
Web using custom-designed pages, without the use of Project Server or seat
licenses. Internally, using this technique allows only one user to use it
(Project) at a time, but this is on a minute-by-minute basis so there is
rarely a conflict unless the site has a large number of users (in which case
Project Server is a better solution anyway).

One of the advantages of this technique is that anyone with a Web browser
can use the system, even palm-sized devicesm as long as they have a browser
that can handle ordinary HTML. It also allows you to to custom cost
calculations outside of Project and integrate them into your Project. The
scheduled is displayed as a GIF file with links to each task.

If anyone is interested in this capability, please contact me at

Rick Williams
