Custom Size paper still thinks its A4

Noel S Pamfree

I'm using Word 2007 and need to print some landscape sheets on custom size
card 17cm wide by 14 cm high.

All looks well in print preview but when I try to print the sheets out there
is a large gap on the cards before half of the text is printed - the rest
being on the roller! By printing it on an A4 sheet it prints OK but is
clear that the computer or printer is ignoring my custom size and printing
my sheets as though they were set for A4 paper.

I know I could cut the sheets but the card I want to print on is exactly the
right size.

Any help will be appreciated.

Word relies on the printer driver to determine what paper sizes are
available. Most drivers are hopeless with custom sizes and will default to
the nearest standard size. You may be able to setup custom sizes in the
driver, but the simplest approach is to use the next larger standard size
and make up the difference with the margins.
